About
CARPOR is the platform dedicated to the Multi-scale Characterization of Porous Media born from the expertise and the equipment of the Chemical Engineering Research Unit of the University of Liège.
Mission
Provide a panel of complementary techniques allowing for the characterization of porosities ranging from the nanometer to the millimeter scale, evaluating thermophysical properties and humidity behavior, as well as the 3D visualization of materials. The platform is directed towards both academia and industry, and proposes services covering routine characterizations as well as deep results analysis, with the help of a multidisciplinary staff of researchers from the Chemical Engineering Research Unit.
Philosophy
Propose one or more techniques best adapted to the needs, in order to guarantee pertinent, correct and reliable results.
Techniques
Gas adsorption-desorption, Mercury intrusion porosimetries, Pycnometries, X-Ray Micro- and Macrotomographies, Dynamic water vapor sorption, Humidity analyzers, Thermogravimetry-Differential Scanning Calorimetry.
Services
Reception of samples, conditioning, analysis and reporting.
Our target audience
Researchers from both academia and industries active in the field of heterogeneous catalysis, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, biomaterials, polymers, composites, fabrics, filters, adsorbents, energy storage, additive manufacturing,…
